Stressful living and long working hours can have a negative effect on our bodies and if not addressed may lead to physical symptoms and chronic health conditions.

Complementary Therapies use a holistic approach, which means looks at a person as a whole incorporating mind, body and spirit.

Massage is especially beneficial during pregnancy and become even more effective because muscles in pregnancy soften and relax in preparation to the childbirth.

Regular treatments of massage combined with aromatherapy can help to balance the body, relieve tension and give a warm sense of well being.

We will not advise to reduce or stop taking any prescribed medication and would suggest a G.P. Complementary Therapies work along side medical treatments or consultation, not to replace them.

Aromatherapy in Pregnancy

Aromatherapy in Pregnancy was one of the first forms of medicine for centuries and has been used for its therapeutic properties for nearly 6000 years. In ancient Egypt, Greece, China and India women were massaged regularly both ante and post natally as well as during labor.

During your sessions the essential oils will be chosen and blended in a low dilution and applied using massage techniques or given for inhalation.

Massage can be offered following 20 weeks of gestation, but inhalations may be used prior to this, please contact us for advice.

G.P. or consultant consent will be required before treatment begins.
